Politics isn't that complicated.

There’s always these memes that circulate Facebook that say “Should veterans be allowed to do this?” “Should parents have the right to do that?” “Should kids be given this?”

There is a fundamental problem with these questions: It’s none of my business. It’s none of your business. Asking these questions leaves one assuming that these people even care what your opinion is for their life.

“Should parents be allowed to teach their kids how to shoot?” Parents can teach their kids whatever they want provided it’s not sin.

“Should veterans be allowed to get regular health insurance payed for by the VA?” I have no idea, maybe you should ask a veteran and let him fight for his own rights.

“Should modifications like bump stocks be allowed?” None of your or my business. If someone wants to make something, and put it on his gun, the only permission he needs is from his wallet.

All these questions do is breed the “village” mindset of we all live together. I call malarkey. This country was founded on the idea that every person has a right to live their own life as they see fit. That governments only job was to enable the people to live their life unthreatened. Further, scripture says governments only purpose is to enforce punishments for crime. There is no biblical scenario that gives my opinion any bearing on a veterans health care. Or a parents child rearing methods. Or a gun owners........ gun ownership. So long these people aren’t committing a crime, or sinning, leave them alone.

Remember, politics is about what is right, and what is wrong. Not what works and what doesn’t. Or what you think vs what I think.

What is right, what is wrong?

And anytime you ask that question you have to ask “According to who?”  If it’s according to me, then what does it matter what I say? If it’s according to you, then what does it matter what you say? If it’s according to God, then what does it matter what anyone else says?

Let us then leave off asking each other how we would live other people’s lives, and start asking how Gods word would have us live our life.

There you go. Political rant of the week

Actually, I think I’ll make that a hashtag.
